My former patient who flew in from the US has dropped something for me in the hospital.  It was a small box of Swiss chocolates. I remembered him telling before he got discharged that he will be heading for Malaysia then straight to Switzerland for business.

He has been bragging about this special sweets that he  purchased personally from the store indicated on the tin can. It called Confiserie Sprungli from Zurich.

The presentation was very dainty that it was hard for me to lift a finger and sink my teeth in any of them.

Well whether or not he got it straight from the store. Chocolates are chocolates and besides, it’s the thought the counts. But I must admit, nothing beats the Swiss chocolates. They acutally melt in your mouth and they are not too sweet at all!

My request for three days off has been granted. My reason? I just wanted to have a hair treatment. I have the budget and I have the needed days off, now the big question is: shall I go for curls or for the straight locks?

Being a nurse, I always wear my hair on tight bun so if I will have it rebonded (read: straightened), ther might be a chance that my hair will jsut be ruined. Here, I am thinking of getting the hydro perm but the problem is, I have thick hair. I always joke around that I have the hair of three persons.

I need to decide quickly!

My college friend let me try his Fish Loaded long board skate.  He’s really talking me into buying  it  from him as he already has  four skates. Due to extreme summer heat, I only thought of riding on the Fish at night if my schedule permits. After almost two weeks of collecting dust in my room and after incessant text messages from my friend asking if I have use the board already, I have finally gave it a ride on a nearby street where passers by and vehicles are relatively few.  I started the skates at around 5:30 and I was finished by 7:00 pm because  the fear for my safety has started to crawl on me. I had to pass by  a shanty just to get to my home. At that time, the rain was also about to pour.

Much as I want to keep the board, I have decided not to take it. For one, I would not be able to maximize it due to lack of time and place to have the ride and two, shelling off some P10,000 is a serious thing.

At the moment, I am thinking of a new  hobby that would fit my time, budget and awake my interest.

While surfing facebook, I came across a friend’s page and saw Gibo  Tedoro holding up a sign against jejemon. I did not understand it so I just ignored it until I saw a topic on Yahoo!  about jejemon.

I now saw the light and to quote:

Jejemon is what you called to a person who writes in a very disturbing way:

1) Lengthens word spelling with f,z,h,q,etc. (ex. hello=heowhz)
2) Use of uppercase and lowercase (ex. hello= h3oWhZ)
3) Use of punctuation marks a lot (ex. hello= heoWhZ!!!!!…..(”,)!!!! )

Jejemon is also a person who wears a cap just in top of their heads literally.(search jejemon in facebook and you will see the famous jejecap and how it is supposedly wear)

I  remember when I was on my way home, a radio DJ was mocking his texter  as he could not understand the message that was sent to him  (which appeared to be jejemon message). He actually read the message as it was written and asked which person in the  right state of mind would write that way complicating simple things.

Jejemon is worse than the normal texting that most of us do where we try to shorten some words to save up load credits.

I  was really obsessing of getting my eyebrows threaded and my pits waxed for the past couple of days. Today in the midst of very hot day, I caved in to my obsession. I went out in my sundress and headed straight to laybare .

Hannah, my favorite attendant rendered my her superb and friendly  service. I mentioned to her that it is my birth month and she told me that for that, my eyebrow threading is free plus I will be getting 15% discount for  other services. What a treat!

Hannah is talking me into having  Brazilian or bikini wax in time for the summer outing.  I told her that I am gonna think it over since it involves a great deal of pain (for sure) and a break in my “personal” space.

Yet again, I have to be back before the month ends so  I can avail of the 15% discount.

The man I dreamed about in The OC is still single. I saw Ben McKenzie  on  Ellen this evening is he proclaimed that he is still on the  market.

He is now on the new cop series  Southland which unfortunately is not shown here in the Philippines.

He’s cute especially when he danced to Ellen. He still has kept is wife beater.

Right after my (unpaid) exposure to Cardio-Vascular laboratory (CV Lab), I  texted my sorority sister who was about to board the bus from her surfing spree in Zambales to Manila. I asked her to meet me up in UP  so  we could catch up on each other’s adventures.  She works in a call center but she chose to rent a pad in  UP.

While we are having our  isaw and barbecue, I got a text from my former patient who was just done with his physical rehab.  He’s an American and it’s his first time in  the Philippines, He was scuba diving in Palawan when he had a heart attack. He just undergone  bypass and his confinement made us some sort of buddies.

I told him that I was having streetfoods with a college friend in UP and if he wanted, he could come by. I gave him the instructions and we  met up at Bahay ng Alumni. We dined at Chocolate Kiss.  The food there is good. I had red pesto and I was really satisfied.  I also enjoyed their New York Cheese cake which sourness gave a good kick to it. For a group  of three, having complete course for just above P1000+ is not bad. That included the cups of coffee that we had to wash out  our gastronomic fulfillment.

We ended that night at the Sunken Garden.

I really miss UP.

As promised to our patient, I toured him around UP when he got discharged. I, personally, am not familiar with campus since I graduated from UP Baguio. I was  not scared at all exploring the university even though it is open to public since most of the people there are students. I managed to get him to UP CS library and we  ended up  at the Sunken Garden.

Suddenly, it sanked in that I miss my student life. Being in  the land of academic freedom, I want to pursue further studies.

I missed UP so much that I went back to get a taste of the infamous err famous street food: the pig instestines (isaw) and pork barbeque.

I have been wanting to learn how to skateboard. I thought it was hard.

I got a text from my sorority sister asking me to join our fraternity brothers to  go on longboard skates. A Longboard is basically a skateboard  with a longer and sometimes wider shape.

In a heartbeat I said yes and we decided to meet up at Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) where I first set my feet on the longboard.  I was all sweaty  trying to  balance and to keep my feet steady.  I sustained blister on my ankle but that did not stop me from skating.  After dinner, we decided to change location. We moved to a village in Kapitolyo in Pasig where a pack of skaters are strutting their stuff. I felt like a grasshopper seeing them dance on top of their longboards. People there were  very accomodating and willing to teach newbies like me.

Since then,  my brothers and sister have been texting me asking me to get my own board already.  They want me to be with them during their rides but they will no longer allow me to borrow their board.

A good model  of longboard skate which is Loaded costs about P16000. Pretty hefty and would surely drain my pocket.

I went to the mall this afternoon with my two nieces. The eldest is 7 years old while the middle one is 3 1/2.  We had a good time in the grocery store and we managed to  get a cab. While in the cab,  the younger one was saying something like the man is bald. I thought he saw someone outside. The she repeated her statement in between chuckles pointing at the cab driver. The driver was not happy at all that he put a face towel on his head. No matter how hard I tried to stop my niece she kept on teasing the driver. Her  eldest sister also helped me in silencing her and finally she stopped. I was really ashamed of her behavior and at the same time worried that the cab driver might bring us to a place unkown to us to take revenge. I kept on yexting my sister.

It was a relief  seeing familiar place. We’re home at last. My sister got a side stitch as she waited for us at the gate and she saw the driver with the face towel still on his head.
