Right after my (unpaid) exposure to Cardio-Vascular laboratory (CV Lab), I texted my sorority sister who was about to board the bus from her surfing spree in Zambales to Manila. I asked her to meet me up in UP so we could catch up on each other’s adventures. She works in a call center but she chose to rent a pad in UP.

While we are having our isaw and barbecue, I got a text from my former patient who was just done with his physical rehab. He’s an American and it’s his first time in the Philippines, He was scuba diving in Palawan when he had a heart attack. He just undergone bypass and his confinement made us some sort of buddies.

I told him that I was having streetfoods with a college friend in UP and if he wanted, he could come by. I gave him the instructions and we met up at Bahay ng Alumni. We dined at Chocolate Kiss. The food there is good. I had red pesto and I was really satisfied. I also enjoyed their New York Cheese cake which sourness gave a good kick to it. For a group of three, having complete course for just above P1000+ is not bad. That included the cups of coffee that we had to wash out our gastronomic fulfillment.

We ended that night at the Sunken Garden.

I really miss UP.

As promised to our patient, I toured him around UP when he got discharged. I, personally, am not familiar with campus since I graduated from UP Baguio. I was not scared at all exploring the university even though it is open to public since most of the people there are students. I managed to get him to UP CS library and we ended up at the Sunken Garden.

Suddenly, it sanked in that I miss my student life. Being in the land of academic freedom, I want to pursue further studies.

I missed UP so much that I went back to get a taste of the infamous err famous street food: the pig instestines (isaw) and pork barbeque.

I have been wanting to learn how to skateboard. I thought it was hard.

I got a text from my sorority sister asking me to join our fraternity brothers to go on longboard skates. A Longboard is basically a skateboard with a longer and sometimes wider shape.

In a heartbeat I said yes and we decided to meet up at Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) where I first set my feet on the longboard. I was all sweaty trying to balance and to keep my feet steady. I sustained blister on my ankle but that did not stop me from skating. After dinner, we decided to change location. We moved to a village in Kapitolyo in Pasig where a pack of skaters are strutting their stuff. I felt like a grasshopper seeing them dance on top of their longboards. People there were very accomodating and willing to teach newbies like me.

Since then, my brothers and sister have been texting me asking me to get my own board already. They want me to be with them during their rides but they will no longer allow me to borrow their board.

A good model of longboard skate which is Loaded costs about P16000. Pretty hefty and would surely drain my pocket.

I went to the mall this afternoon with my two nieces. The eldest is 7 years old while the middle one is 3 1/2. We had a good time in the grocery store and we managed to get a cab. While in the cab, the younger one was saying something like the man is bald. I thought he saw someone outside. The she repeated her statement in between chuckles pointing at the cab driver. The driver was not happy at all that he put a face towel on his head. No matter how hard I tried to stop my niece she kept on teasing the driver. Her eldest sister also helped me in silencing her and finally she stopped. I was really ashamed of her behavior and at the same time worried that the cab driver might bring us to a place unkown to us to take revenge. I kept on yexting my sister.

It was a relief seeing familiar place. We’re home at last. My sister got a side stitch as she waited for us at the gate and she saw the driver with the face towel still on his head.

I just got robbed! It is not just a mere pickpocket thing but the thief slashed my MNG bag.
I feel awful not for the loss of the cell phone but for the damage my bag has sustained.
As my colleague says, let it slide ’cause s**t happens.

Just thinking aloud.

I met up with Liv and she handed me the sweet treat. After a hours of chitchatting, we parted ways.
When I got home, I got a text from her that if ever I want a jam refill, I just have to swing by Trinoma, because there is a Toastbox branch there. She just discovered it too on her way to the shuttle service stations.
What an idiot!
I am excited for the Kaya toast and the milk iced tea.

While sipping on our non-fat decaf caramel macchiato, Liv and I kept on talking about our current lovelife status which has the words boring and zero written all over it. We kept on asking what is wrong with us? Or are we that really choosy? The time is ticking on us and the bomb of being legitimate old maids is on its final stretch of being detonated.
After so many considerations, we have decided not to be choosy and to jump in the opprotunity to have a boyfriend as soon as it knocks.
I am getting a vibe that it will the year for either of us, it’s good if it will be for the both of us.

Recently, I asked my cousin who came from Canada why she puts her child on a leash when she goes out for shopping or a stroll. She just casually anwered that she does that in order for the kid not to be lost. WTF?, the child will not be lost if you will cuddle her or put her on a stroller. If you are scared of losing her, might as well leave her at some with someone else.
Child on a leash is just a brutal scene to me. Children deserve some respect.
