I ran into Jessica Zafra’s article on the Gadgets section of the Philippine Star dated June 20, 2010. She is raving about the Pulse Smartpen and the dot paper that she recently acquired.

She said she was intrigued by it when she saw the video promotion in National Bookstore so I tried to Google it for the full details.

I was pretty impressed by what this Pulse Smartpen and dot paper can do.

Focus is one of the common problems of the listeners during lectures and I am one of those who tend to snooze and drool during these events. Judging on its presentation, the invention of the Pulse Smartpen and dot paper is the most genius of them all. It is like the messiah of all listening and writing instruments.

Taking down notes during class even if the professor speaks too fast, will never be a problem. You can actually take a discreet nap without a fear of missing out on important points. This means I have to skip on caffeine overload.

The Pulse Smartpen can record everything you hear and write while you can listen to the recording by tapping on your notes. It can still record even if you are scribbling. I am hoping that I can get to squeeze this into my budget in time for my Critical Care Course in September.

This serious gadget also has serious price tag on it. I have to shell out roughly P12,000 for it so I am also looking for reviews about this little but powerful stick.

The replacement

Yesterday, I phoned PC Live to get an update about my demand for laptop replacement.
I have spoken with the manager and she told me that she will get feedback about it today.
I asked her to text me instead for it since I will be out the whole day.
While I was on my therapy session this afternoon, I got a text from them that I could claim the replacement unit today. Since I have to go on duty at 4:00 p.m. I have to take a rain check.
I will go there tomorrow.
Seriously, I am not hoping for a better deal because I do not want to be frustrated and be on the losing end.
Tomorrow’s gonna be another day.

UPDATE:

I was able to get the replacement for my lemon love. Same model, same color, different serial number. Tests revealed no problem, as yet. I was informed that if problem arises, they could only render the service warranty.
I am really not hoping into bumping into problems with this laptop. I just want something to use that is worth my hard-earned money.
I wish that I do not have to go back to PC Live again.

It’s not a significant other.

My desktop computer showed sign s of wear and tear. It’s about time to let it go. I had it tweaked and then gave it to my sister.

After a week of deciding on what laptop brand will I get as replacement without breaking the bank, I have finally decided to get this red Dell Inspiron 1410. So far, I am enjoying it. I also got a wireless router so I could tinker with it anywhere in the house.

Good thing about having extended family is that, I get to have my sister’s brother-in-law help me with the add-on applications for this laptop. He used to work for Dell’s customer support at a call center here in the Philippines and since we are “talking” through my sister, I did not get his opinion about my latest gadget purchase.

I am thiking, is he thinking I got a lemon model?

Should I really be caring about this? Right now, this piece of technology is not giving me a headache. I had a Toshiba laptop from the US and it gave me the worst headache imaginable.

My concern now, is the name I will give this newly found love.
